Zentherapy® is a word, and like many words in the English language, it can have more than one meaning. It does not infer any religious, spiritual, or dogmatic connotations. In its use here, it is best to start with the description of its overall intention given by its founder and master body worker William Dub Leigh Founder of Zentherapy®. The scope of Zentherapy® is divided into three main approaches which are Zen Triggerpoint Anatomy®, Zen Bodytherapy® 10 session recipe, and Advanced Zen Bodytherapy®.
Charles received the Hawaii State massage license through the American Institute of Massage Therapy where the curriculum included Swedish, sports and Russian clinical massage, Reiki, Polarity therapy, and reflexology. Three weeks into the program, he met a man apprenticing at the institute who shared with him a very different set of skills than was being presented in class, and said that training was being made available by a man named Dub Leigh Founder of Zentherapy® starting in three weeks.
Fascinated with the healing potential of the human body, Charles started his early training as a Respiratory Therapy Technician in 1980 and has spent much of his life studying and practising the unification of mind, body, and spirit as a way of personal development.
Develop a grounded sense of awareness and renewed freedom in the body
Body Therapy
I have been honored to work with people from all walks of life from infants up to ninety four years old as of yet. The key to getting good results, from my experience, is that a person must be totally present (mind and body) in each session and be willing to make the change for the better. I facilitate the sessions. However, it is important to note that a person makes the change him/herself. If he/she wants to be different than he/she is right at that moment, the desire to be different and willingness to be open and allow the change will make it happen.
The Latin root word for posture means to ‘place’ or to ‘put’. However, true optimal positioning of the body must include evoking a line naturally, without strain, to hold the body vertically with a feeling of being uplifted from the top of the head. The major segments of the body, meaning the feet, lower legs, upper legs, pelvis, thorax, shoulders, neck, and head, all form a vertical framework to carry the weight of the body and perform the necessary functions of daily life. When the body is straighter and more balanced up through the segments, less energy is expended.
