Charles Kise

Fascinated with the healing potential of the human body, Charles started his early training as a Respiratory Therapy Technician in 1980 and has spent much of his life studying and practising the unification of mind, body, and spirit as a way of personal development.

As a skilled and intuitive body therapist since 1988, he studied personally with ‘The dean of body workers’ William ‘Dub’ Leigh, founder of Zen Bodytherapy®. He has been trained and certified as a Zen Triggerpoint Anatomy®, Zen Bodytherapy®, and Advanced Zentherapy® I and II practitioner facilitating people of all ages and walks of life in Structural, (the physical framework) and Functional, (quality of movement) Integration. Charles has assisted Dub in facilitating numerous trainings and is a certified teacher of Zen Triggerpoint Anatomy® through the International Zentherapy® Institute Inc.

Charles uses a direct, precise approach using his hands, intuition, and experience to help people process out their pain, regain activity, and develop tools for adjusting to life’s changing conditions.

He graduated from the American Institute of Massage Therapy where he was trained in Sports Therapy, Remedial Massage, Swedish massage, Lomi Lomi, Reflexology, Polarity Energy work and Remedial Stretching. He also completed the State of Hawaii Massage Therapy license program and followed with studies in Sports Therapy Massage with Olympic sports physician Mik Hungerford and Russian clinical massage specialist Zjenia Kuroshova.

In 1990 he began sitting zazen, (seated meditation) at the recommendation of his teacher’s experience with Tenoyue Roshi at Chozen Ji International Zen Dojo. Enthusiastic of experiencing the challenges of mind-body potential, Charles was an accomplished triathlete and long distance runner as well as practicing karate. Charles’s training included assisting the rebuilding a 3 chamber wood fire kiln, and then became involved in firing ceramics for the next few years. He went on to study the circulation of energy through the practice of Qigong with Master Wong from Beijing and studied Reiki modules I and II. Charles participated in the Forum education process, Asiaworks, Pathway to Wholeness and Quest programs, confirming that the emotional-mental state of one‘s being directly influences the shape and condition of the physical body.

In 2007, Charles moved family and practice to Australia and went back to school to receive his Australian Diploma for Remedial Massage.

Being a very hands-on kind of person, Charles has been practicing woodwork and wood carving since 1979. He likes to bring out the potential in everything and in everyone he works with. He believes that everyone has a great purpose and when the right conditions are created, the body knows how to heal. We can then release the natural form of the body to live with less pain and negativity, to become happier, and appreciate the gift of life itself.

To free the body, mind and spirit…

To rediscover the magic of freedom in the body...

To become free as a child: free of fear, hate, greed and pain…

To fully live each moment by moment
